Rachael Fights Back
Look at me, getting all motivated to run a few miles, and then failing to remember what running in 34 degree temps and 11mph winds is like…
I woke up an hour before my alarm - even though I went to bed pretty late, and somehow felt pretty good. I’m sure you’ve all noticed a lack of running around here. I sure have. I needed that break, but I’m ready to get back to it. I have 8 miles planned with Courtney on Wednesday, and 5 miles with Team Challenge on Saturday. —> *Cough* I am only $12 away from $2600 of my $3200 fundraising goal ;) [Here].
If you have a Garmin, you’ll understand that this is the worst thing ever.

1.01 miles / 9:42 / 9:38 pace.
Physically I felt great this morning (until the end when I was pushing hard and dying for a silly sub-10 minute mile)… But good grief the weather conditions were horrid. Everything hurt and was freezing, and it felt like I was breathing in cold fire if that makes sense. I decided to push it for one mile vs casually running three. Counts as speed work, right?
I know it’s not much, but I’m proud that I got out there and really pushed. I have a gym date as well hopefully with my roommate! So I swear that I’m not slacking too much over here.
PS - I really need to invest in winter running gear and gloves.
